Where it all started…
Initially, we were a fertility-focused service. We founded Personal Homecare Pharmacy just before COVID-19 swept across the globe, but it wasn’t until the pandemic hit that we gained the extra motivation we needed to really push forward.
As the world began to change, so did the healthcare needs of patients. This is when we swiftly realised that our help and offering was desperately needed.
By capitalising on our existing strengths and embracing new areas, we knew that we could effectively adapt to the changing healthcare landscape – ensuring the continuity of care for thousands relying on essential medication.
This strategic shift, in part, was fuelled by a drive for self-sufficiency and a response to an urgent market demand for quality, personalised healthcare services.
A story of growth: overcoming challenges and hitting milestones
Our transition from a budding SME to a key player in healthcare delivery was a significant milestone in our journey. A notable turning point came when we secured our very first major contract with a pharmaceutical company. This validated our approach and solidified our status as a reliable partner in healthcare delivery.
Despite the challenges of competing with larger companies, our unique strategy, personalised service, and commitment to quality set us apart in the field – meaning we could form vital connections with hospitals around the UK and grow our patient base.
Another aspect that was important to us – which was both a challenge and a boon – was the fact that we had a very small team. Again, we had to play to our strengths and instead of being disheartened by the larger companies with a more established, larger infrastructure, we used this to our advantage by pitching a more accessible, personable service.
An additional benefit here is that our technologies allowed us to have a lower carbon footprint than our bigger competitors – namely because we didn’t need to have people on the road.
