What homecare delivery means for you

The home pharmacy delivery service was designed to make life easier for those receiving specific treatments and prescriptions, such as medication that requires temperature-controlled storage.

Instead of trying to find a pharmacy that stocks your medication and collecting prescriptions yourself, everything is done for you. Our homecare delivery service is arranged by your clinical team, with our Leicester pharmacy handling your prescription and delivering it directly to your home.

How it works

Once your healthcare provider has approved your prescription, we take responsibility for the rest of the journey. Here’s what that process looks like from start to finish.

    Prescription received and registered

Your clinician sends your details through to us on a secure system. We register you and if we need any additional information, we’ll get in touch.

  2. 2

    Checked and prepared

Your prescription is reviewed by our pharmacy team, and your medication is prepared in line with your treatment plan.

  3. 3

    Delivery arranged

You’ll be contacted with a link or call to confirm your delivery details. This gives you the chance to choose a time that works for you.

  4. 4

    Dispatched from the pharmacy

Your medication is packed and prepared for delivery, using the appropriate storage conditions where needed.

  5. 5

    Tracked through to delivery

You’ll receive updates once your order is on its way, so you can follow its progress and know when to expect it.

What to expect on delivery day

The most frustrating thing about having your prescriptions delivered is not knowing when they’ll arrive. We do things differently, so your routine isn’t disrupted.

  • You’ll know when it’s arriving

You’ll receive a delivery window in advance, which you have the ability to change, so you’ll know when to expect your medication.

  • Your medication is transported correctly

Items are transported by courier in line with their requirements, such as temperature-controlled packaging if needed.

  • You’ll be fully informed

Along with your delivery, you’ll receive information on how to store and use your medication once it arrives.

Making things easier to manage

At Personal Homecare Pharmacy, we’ve designed our systems to reduce the pressure of managing prescriptions, both for clinicians and for you.

  • Trackable delivery you can plan around

Knowing when your medication will arrive helps you get on with your week, without the uncertainty that can come with waiting for deliveries.

  • Human support on-demand

If something changes or you have a question, there are live chat, email and phone lines available to get support without needing to chase multiple teams.

  • Less admin to keep track of

Reminders, updates, and coordination are all handled for you, so you don’t have the hassle of needing to manage everything on your own.

Patient Portal

Our innovative Patient Portal is your main point of reference for managing your prescriptions and deliveries.

Through the portal, you can check the status of your prescription, confirm upcoming deliveries, and access video guides on how to use and store your medication. It also gives you a simple way to stay informed between appointments, with dedicated support available if you need help or have a question.

Nursing support and home visits

Where requested and appropriate, some treatments may include additional support, such as scheduled nurse visits or pharmacist calls.

Need support administering a medication for the first time? If you’d benefit from a nurse home visit, speak to your clinician or get in touch with our team. Our nurses and pharmacists are available to offer reassurance and guidance to set you up for success.
