A secret since June
Four months under embargo
We have known since June. Not because we wanted to keep it quiet, but because we had to: the list was under embargo until the evening of 7 October, and nobody outside the judging panel could be told. Sitting on news like this for four months has been harder than it sounds.
The Times profile mentions 60,000 patients. Behind every one of those numbers is a person, a family, and someone in our team who answered the phone, checked the prescription, packed the cold-chain box and knocked on the door.
It’s a recognition of…
- A team that has doubled in size in twelve months, while continuing to answer the phone and look after patients with the same care and compassion we had when there were just two of us working from a rented desk in Tamworth.
- The people who achieved our Customer Service Excellence accreditation, where the assessors told us not to change a thing because the culture was so strong.
- Everyone who pulled together through the pandemic, when none of us knew what was coming next.
- The people who show up every day and make a difference to the patients we serve.

Why this is such a big deal
A rented desk in Tamworth, now in the national paper
The LDC Top 50 has run with The Times since 2018 and is judged by an independent panel. Together, this year’s fifty turn over £1.4bn and employ 8,500 people across 55 towns and cities.
That is the list PHP is now on. A clinical homecare pharmacy that started at a rented desk in Tamworth, alongside some of the most ambitious businesses in the UK. That does not happen without the team behind it.
That is the real achievement
Thank you, from Mohammed & Bushra
“We may be the names on the award, but there is absolutely no way we’d be standing here without our team. Be proud of this. You have earned it.”
- For every early start and late finish.
- For every call answered with patience when the queue was long.
- For every cold-chain box packed properly and every prescription checked twice.
- For every patient who put the phone down feeling looked after.
- And for the way our people look out for each other.

The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders 2026 is created by LDC, part of Lloyds Banking Group, in partnership with The Times.
